The leadership of SCL Health includes healthcare executives with decades of experience in faith-based, nonprofit healthcare. Their experience includes working for small and large health systems, hospitals and consulting firms from across the United States. They are dedicated to fulfilling SCL Health’s strategic priorities as guided by our mission, vision and values.
As the President and Chief Executive Officer of SCL Health, Lydia Jumonville oversees and ensures operational, financial and clinical success across the health system. She is responsible for leading, managing and providing strategic direction for the organization, while also ensuring that patients and SCL Health’s Mission remain at the core of efforts across the 16,000-person system.
Lydia has established a best-in-class Executive Leadership Team since being named President & CEO in 2017 and promotes a culture that inspires associates to achieve organizational and personal growth and excellence. Prior to her current leadership role, Lydia served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of SCL Health. Before
joining SCL Health, Lydia spent nearly 10 years of her distinguished career in financial leadership as the Chief Financial Officer at Baylor Health Care System in Dallas, Texas. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University, where she graduated Summa cum Laude, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Tajquah Hudson, FACHE, Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy and Growth Officer Tajquah Hudson, FACHE, Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, joined SCL Health in 2007. Tajquah was appointed Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development/Chief Strategy Officer in 2013, and Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy and Growth Officer in 2018. She leads the development and implementation of SCL Health’s strategic plan and identifies and executes strategic and tactical growth initiatives to enhance long-term sustainability of the ministry. She drives continued portfolio development for the system facilitating dialogue with health systems, hospitals and potential partners. She leads the sourcing, execution and implementation of joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions and other business arrangements and has financial oversight and operational responsibility for these business entities as well as real estate and construction. With more than 25 years of experience, Tajquah has held executive positions in community and academic health systems and national managed care and insurance roles.
Mark Korth, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Hospital OperationsMark Korth joined SCL Health as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Hospital Operations in June 2019. In this role, Mark has direct responsibility for hospital operational performance, nursing, information technology, service line development and transformation, as well as the development and implementation of integrated strategic initiatives working with strategy and business development and clinical, physician and other system leaders to promote overall system alignment, support growth initiatives and advance patient care.
J.P. Valin, MD, FACP, joined SCL Health as President of Medical Group and Provider Services in September 2016, and assumed the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer in February 2018.
As Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Valin is responsible for integrating and providing direction for all clinical activity across the continuum. All clinical programs have been aligned under Dr. Valin including the SCL Health Medical Group, acute care clinical operations, Quality, Safety and Risk, and Medical Informatics to maximize Clinical Integration and Alignment.
Janie joined SCL Health as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in February 2018. She leads a high-performing financial organization, providing systemwide strategic oversight and direction for finance, accounting, payroll, treasury, revenue cycle, supply chain and real estate. Most recently, Janie served as Senior Vice President of Finance for Baylor Scott and White Health, with responsibilities that included leading the revenue cycle and health information management teams for 22 wholly-owned and managed hospitals and clinics. A Certified Public Accountant, Wade holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Shawn Dufford, MD, MBA, joined SCL Health as Chief Medical Officer for Acute Care Operations in May 2015, after serving as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Saint Joseph Hospital since 2011. Dr. Dufford leads the health system’s quality, safety and clinical regulatory matters across the healthcare continuum, with a focus on our care site operations. At Saint Joseph Hospital, Dr. Dufford was integrally involved in the design, planning and transition to the new hospital, and also provided key clinical leadership for the joint operating agreement between Saint Joseph Hospital and National Jewish Health. Previously, Dr. Dufford served as the Medical Director of Perioperative Services for Saint Joseph and the Physician Director of Performance Improvement for Colorado Permanente Medical Group. He completed a surgery internship and anesthesia residency at the University of Colorado and earned a master’s degree in business administration from Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
Laura Wightman, MSN, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer joined SCL Health in April 2019. In her role as SCL Health Chief Nursing Officer, Laura is responsible for the overall management of patient care services across our ministry, including providing strategy, leadership direction and structures that support an environment of evidence-based nursing best practices to support quality care, patient safety and patient and family experience. As a member of the system Ministry Leadership Team, she participates in planning, organizing and implementing systemwide nursing programs and activities in accordance with our mission and values. Laura joined SCL Health from Regional Health in Rapid City, South Dakota, where she served as Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services. Prior to joining Regional Health, she served as Chief Nursing Officer for Saint Agnes Medical Center. Laura earned her doctorate of nursing practice from Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. She also received both her master of science degree in nursing and her bachelor of science in nursing from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.
Steve Chyung joined SCL Health in November 2011, and serves as Senior Vice President, Supply Chain and Real Estate. His role includes directing supply chain activities across our system and working to improve the quality and service levels of our existing services and materials. In addition, he oversees our systemwide real estate portfolio and works with care site leadership to help them manage and optimize their portfolios. Previously, Chyung held several leadership positions with Novartis and A.T. Kearney Management Consultants. Chyung earned a master’s degree in business administration from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
Rosland Fisher McLeod joined SCL Health in August 2012, and serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. She oversees systemwide legal services and risk management strategy. Prior to joining SCL Health, she served as Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer at Biogen-Idec, and as healthcare partner at the international law firm K&L Gates. McLeod earned her undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University and her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
Megan Mahncke, MA, serves as the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications at SCL Health and as President of the SCL Health Foundations. She is responsible for the strategic vision and oversight for all marketing, communications, advocacy and philanthropic efforts across the non-profit health system. As the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Megan provides leadership for the development of brand, marketing and public relations campaigns and internal strategic messaging. She also extends counsel to the Executive Leadership team related to these areas of work and partners with individuals and teams across the organization on campaign planning and implementation. As President of the SCL Health Foundations, Megan has strategically aligned and streamlined philanthropy efforts across the system to reduce expenses and increase revenue. Her work has resulted in fundraising program quality improvements, including the development and implementation of enhanced metrics and financial reporting; a renewed focus on major and planned gifts; a systemwide grants program; and evidence-based direct mail, annual giving, grateful patient and events fundraising in local communities.
David Pringle joined SCL Health as Senior Vice President, Mission Integration, in January 2015. He is responsible for ensuring the mission, values and spirit of our founders are fully integrated into our health ministry. Specifically, he develops and promotes a full continuum of activities designed to enrich our leaders and associates spiritually, ethically and culturally, and oversees our Catholic identity, organizational and clinical ethics, ministry formation, international outreach, mission integration and spiritual care. Previously, Pringle served as the Vice President of Mission Integration at Seton Healthcare Family in Austin, Texas, and as Executive Vice President of Mission Integration at St. Vincent’s Healthcare in Jacksonville, Florida. After completing his undergraduate education in theological studies from the Eastern Theological College in Peterborough, Ontario, Pringle went on to earn his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario.
Tammy Saunaitis joined SCL Health in April 2014 and now serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. She brought extensive HR experience from the healthcare, logistics, communications and energy industries. Saunaitis earned her master’s degree in human resources and marketing from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and a CPA certification in Illinois.
Craig Richardville, MBA Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer, joined SCL Health in February 2019. His responsibilities include leading all aspects of the health system’s information technology strategy and operations, including enterprise systems and applications, information security, core infrastructure and leading the system’s digital transformation and information automation. Previously, he served as owner and president of Richardville Consulting LLC, delivering resource, advisory and brokerage services for innovative start-up software and services companies. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President & Chief Information and Analytics Officer at Carolinas HealthCare System (Atrium Health) for more than 20 years where he transformed the company into a national leader in the effective use of technology, utilizing data as a driver; analytics and business intelligence; artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotic process automation. His notable accomplishments include receiving the 2015 John E. Gall, Jr. CIO of the Year award from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and HIMSS in recognition of his leadership in driving digital transformation in healthcare and the 2017 CIO of the Year award for “Leadership” presented by Charlotte CIO for his impact on the technology industry across all verticals. Craig earned his master’s degree in business administration and also his bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Toledo.
Joanne Davidson, Vice President, Chief Integrity and Compliance Officer: Joanne Davidson joined SCL Health in August 2012 as Vice President and Chief Integrity and Compliance Officer. She leads the organization’s Integrity and Compliance Program and is responsible for coordinating with the Legal team to establish standards and policies pertaining to regulatory requirements to help ensure legal, ethical and proper conduct. Prior to joining SCL Health, she worked as the Division Ethics and Compliance Officer and as Operations Counsel for the Continental Division of HCA. Davidson earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado and her law degree from the University of Denver. She is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Health Care Compliance Association.
Alicia Capps, Vice President, Chief Audit Officer: Alicia Capps joined SCL Health in 2013, and began serving as the Vice President and Chief Audit Officer of SCL Health in March 2017. She ensures that the internal audit strategies are aligned with SCL Health’s strategies and enterprise risks, and support the organization’s value of Integrity, doing the right thing with openness and pride. Capps holds an accounting degree from Louisiana State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). She also serves on the board of directors for the Association of Healthcare Internal Auditors.
